Heyo! I'm Ganesh Kumar, the creator of Letter. Letter is a mobile app where you write requests for kindness and reply to others. It's cute, anonymous, and moderated. It's been my side project for two months.

In the past few weeks, I've invited a couple of my close friends to test alpha version of Letter. It's been a privilege to have so much interest, praise, and support from them for my work. I got into a zone to spend some more of energy and time to this app. I don't take it lightly when I've got responses like this:

I just answered a few letters and it felt so good and special. I feel needed and connected once again.

You've already contributed a serious net positive to the world with this alpha version. Can't wait for stable release :)

I love this app and it has a huuuuge potential.

Timeline of Letter

Jan 21 Night Theme for more screens!

  • Night theme now for Request, Help and Settings screens.

Nov 27 Night mode theme pre-release

  • Night theme introduced for Home and Reply Screen. It is a pre-release feature.

Oct 18 Feedback implementation after Beta Release

  • Fixed Notification settings pop up. Now, you can turn off notifications for all requests.

  • Fixed the bug where the app was crashing when you had a lot of requests.

July 6 Private Beta Release

  • Version 0.1.0+1.2beta of Letter is available to Private beta testers with the ability of automatic spam and obscene moderation.

  • New Private Android beta signups are open. Only Limited slots are available

June 16 In-App Notifications added

  • Version 0.0.1+1.2 of Letter will have the ability to get in-app notifications for your messages and reactions.

May 18 Letter Alpha Release 🎉

  • Version 0.0.1+1 of Letter will be available to Alpha testers from May 18 with the ability to export your messages via email and clipboard.

May 10 Reaction to messages!

  • You will now be able to react to send messages on the app ❤️. You'll get an reaction in back too when you try 💌.

April 21st Added Analytics, Design Updates and more...

  • All letter data will be now tagged and metadata will be generated for analytics, making your letters still anonymous.

  • The New Replies section will have reaction stack (upcoming feature!).

  • All Letter typograhy have been made responsive for larger mobile screens.

  • The accessibility of app navigation is improved with Android's TalkBack and Screen Magnifier.

March 11th Side Project #234 - Letter App 😉

  • Letter is started as a side project with a aim for making Gen-z to get the experience of lettering out of more compassionate with people esp. in times of lockdowns.

  • If you're someone from 90's era, then you'll reminisce lot of fulfilling days and memorable experiences.
